Eight's smart mattresses range from $699 to $1599. Purple's mattresses range from $699 to $3,499. Eight's beds include smart technology in addition to the bed, making it double the value. The higher range prices for both beds are due to their premium models.

Purple does not offer twin size beds. Eight's smart collection does not offer twin or twin XL sizes, but their standard collection (without technology) does.

Both mattresses do a good job at preventing the sleeper from feeling their partner tossing and turning. Both Eight and Purple offer hybrid mattresses which have additional support for heavier sleepers, but since they have coils in between the layers there will be a slightly extra bounce.
